Brazos Valley Burn Bans: The following counties are under a Burn Ban: Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Lee, Leon, Madison, Milam, Robertson, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Washington
The Texas A&M University System and a Charlotte-based company have formalized their deal concerning A&M services in Brazos County.
Wednesday, the System announced the update on the contract with Compass Group USA, which includes operation of landscaping, maintenance of buildings, custodial services and dining. The original deal was announced in June.
Some 1,600 employees are in the process of transitioning from A&M employment to Compass.
“I am very pleased that we are delivering a comprehensive dining and facility services program that will provide a significant revenue source to the A&M System,” said Chancellor John Sharp in a statement. “This partnership advances my goal to reallocate our scarce resources to recruit, pay, and retain faculty and researchers throughout the A&M System. It is truly a win-win and we look forward to their partnership.”
A&M touts a potential savings, revenue generation and development of infrastructure of $260 million over ten years from the arrangement
Compass already provides services for A&M's Corpus Christi campus among the 300 colleges and 6,000 schools it serves across the country.
