Local and state leaders will announce a major partnership in Austin that could bring significant jobs and dollars to the region.

According to the Texas A&M System, a 10:00 a.m. press conference Tuesday will feature details on a public-private partnership with GlaxoSmithKline, one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies, in order to study, create and produce vaccines.

"This is a big deal in our community. It means there are going to be more people coming into the community that are making high wages that will require services and products that current businesses offer,” said Bryan Mayor Jason Bienski.

"It means there are going to be more people coming into the community that are making high wages that will require services and products that current businesses offer,” said College Station Mayor Nancy Berry.

Both mayors from Bryan and College Station are making their way to Austin to be there for the announcement.

The Center for Innovation and Advanced Development and Manufacturing (CIADM) is located in Bryan/College Station as part of the ever-growing biocorridor.

Governor Rick Perry, A&M System Chancellor John Sharp and local officials are scheduled to be part of the announcement.

GlaxoSmithKline is based out of the United Kingdom, but has its United States headquarters in Research Triangle Park in Durham County, North Carolina, the largest research park in the world.
