Accident Kills Two Motorcyclists In College Station

Police have released the identities of two motorcyclists killed today in an accident that happened at the intersection William D. Fitch Parkway and Tonkaway Lake Road.

Investigators say 69 year old Patricia Hayman, and 49 year old Don Hayman from Dodge, TX died as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.

Members of the CSPD crash reconstruction team and CSPD detectives were called to the scene to begin their investigation into the crash.

Investigators believe that the two motorcycles were traveling westbound on William D. Fitch. The Chevrolet was traveling north on Tonkaway Lake Road and after stopping at the intersection, proceeded northbound through the intersection and into the path of the two motorcycles. The first motorcycle was struck by the Chevrolet’s front bumper while the second motorcycle struck the rear quarter panel of the Chevrolet.

The investigation into this crash continues and more information will be released as it becomes available.

College Station police are on the scene of a fatal accident that killed two people just before 1 p.m.

Police tells us the accident is on William D. Fitch Parkway and Tonkaway Lake Road which is east Highway 6 South. A man and woman, on two different motorcycles, were riding down William D. Fitch. Investigators say a man in a pickup was pulling onto William D. Fitch from Tonkaway Lake Rd. and hit the two motorcyclists.

Investigators say both motorcyclists died on the scene. They are from out of town, and they were not wearing helmets.

The driver of the pickup did not have any injuries.

Police are reconstructing the scene to find out the cause of the accident.

Part of William D. Fitch Pkwy is blocked, and authorities advise to use alternate routes.
