VISTA, CALIFORNIA - Court documents allege Ronald Lee Haskell, accused of fatally shooting six members of a suburban Houston family, became angry with his mother a week before the killings and choked her until she passed out.

Sixty-one-year-old Karla Haskell obtained a temporary restraining order against her 33-year-old son and told a judge he taped her to a chair at her San Marcos, California, home before choking her. The elder Haskell said her son became enraged when she told him she had spoken with his ex-wife.

Court records contend Ronald Haskell threatened to kill his mother, his father and his 40-year-old sister.

His sister, Chandra, obtained a similar order against Haskell last year for attacking her when she objected to him screaming at his mother and throwing her to the ground.
