Young voices from across an ocean.
The African Children's Choir performed Friday night in Bryan.
This famous choir that has even been featured on "American Idol," "Ellen," and "The Tonight Show."
It was standing room only at Church of the Nazarene in Bryan as the African Children's Choir gave their third performance in recent years at the church.
This year's members are all from Uganda.
The concert is meant to lift the spirits of those in attendance and also raise awareness to the continuing troubles in Africa including war, famine, and HIV / AIDS.
The Horn of Africa where these kids are from is suffering its worst drought in 60 years.
These aspiring musicians age eight to ten have been on the road performing for six months and will be on tour in the United States for a full year.
"I enjoy to be in the African Children's Choir," said Faith, an 8-year-old singer.
"I enjoy dancing," said Brivtt, another 8-year-old singer from Uganda.
"With the famine going on it is making a huge difference in our ability to feed our students but there is plenty of ways to help from sponsoring specific children to donating to our school to just giving to the general fund," said Sarah Jordan, African Children's Choir Tour Leader.
The choir has been providing aid in Africa since 1984 and we're told these singers will even be provided a college education thanks to programs and sponsorships within the African Children's Choir organization.
