AUSTIN - A new Public Policy poll shows more Texans count themselves as Aggie fans than Longhorn fans when it comes to football.
In a report released November 7th, 22% of Texans polled identify as Aggie supporters, compared to 20% for the University of Texas.
The last time the poll was taken, Texas led 23% to A&M's 15%. The success is likely due to a surge in success of the Aggies in the past two years, a phenomenal performance by Heisman winning quarterback Johnny Manziel, and an increase in overall coverage of Aggie football on the national stage with a move to the S-E-C.
