'Hill' of Trouble
Arrested at 2:57 a.m. Friday
Charge: Public Intoxication
Police: Hill found passed out in Northgate
COLLEGE STATION – A Texas A&M quarterback has been arrested for public intoxication.
Police say when they found Kenny Hill at 2:57 a.m. Friday, he was sound asleep, lying in a planter box full of rocks, outside Chimy’s, a Northgate restaurant and bar.
According to the probable cause statement, police had a tough time waking up the 19-year-old. Hill smelled like alcohol, his eyes were red, glassy and bloodshot, and his speech was slurred. When the officer asked Hill who is the current President of the United States, he said Bush. Police say Hill also told the officer his name was Kennedy.
Hill is out of jail on $445 bond.
The sophomore quarterback saw action in four games this past season (Sam Houston State, SMU, Vanderbilt and UTEP). He threw for 183 yards and 1 touchdown on 16-22 passing. He also rushed for 39 yards. Hill, who was the Texas Gatorade Player of the Year as a high school senior, is competing against senior Matt Joeckel and true freshman Kyle Allen for the right to take over for Heisman trophy winner Johnny Manziel.
Texas A&M’s Department of Athletics says Hill is “suspended from all athletic activities per department policy” until the case is resolved.
