A deadly wreck in Montgomery County involving two vehicles left one person dead just south of Magnolia on Walnut Creek Road around 10:30 Friday night.

According to the Montgomery County Police Reporter, the driver of one vehicle, 24-year old Alexander Gonzalez, was found dead at the scene when emergency crews arrived.

DPS believes Gonzalez's car was southbound and crossed the center line, hitting a pickup head-on.

Authorities say alcohol may have played a role.

Gonzalez's passenger, who is also his cousin, was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Five people were in the truck, including three children between the ages 5 and 12.

None of them were seriously hurt.
