BRYAN – The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office is now taking applications for its Citizens’ Sheriff’s Academy.

The free, 12-week program, which gives citizens an inside look at the world of law enforcement and the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office.

Participants will learn what goes on behind closed doors at the Sheriff’s Office and inside the silver patrol cars you see around the county. You’ll also get a chance to tour the jail, administration building, and 911 dispatch. The class will also include a session at the gun range where you’ll get the chance to fire an automatic weapon.
