University Title Company is celebrating its fortieth anniversary this month, and is commemorating the milestone by donating a total of $80,000 to five local home-building and charitable organizations. The beneficiaries include the B/CS Habitat for Humanity, which is expected to receive $40,000, with the other half evenly divided between Family Promise, Operation FINALLY HOME, Project Unity, and Twin City Mission.

The company hosted a presentation ceremony Thursday at its headquarters on University Drive.

In 1973, Phillip B. Goode formed the company as an aid to his law practice. It has since grown into Brazos County's largest title insurance provider.
