Area students got a realistic look at what can happen when you drive impaired or distracted.

As reported by the Conroe Courier, Montgomery High Schoolers saw a staged scene of an accident Thursday morning at the school. It was put on by Shattered Lives of Montgomery County, volunteers, first responders and other emergency personnel.

Student actors had a variety of injuries, and vehicles from actual accidents were used.

People who attended called it frighteningly realistic and a sobering reminder of the consequences of drunk driving and texting while driving.

Shattered Lives of Montgomery County describes itself as "a program devoted to educating teenagers about the consequences of Drinking & Driving, as well as, the consequences of poor decision making involving both Drugs and Alcohol."
