A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH has been issued for Lee, Leon, Milam, and Robertson Counties until 1:00 am Sunday morning. A line of rain and thunderstorms will be possible between sunset and midnight -- moving in from the north & west. Some storms could be strong to severe. If these storms can reach the area, they could pose a localized flooding & damaging wind threat.
A traffic alert for weekend travelers... the annual Armadillo Dash 5-K and Half- Marathon is this weekend in College Station, and it's expected to tie up roads on Sunday.
Starting at 6:30 Sunday morning, Harvey Road between the Highway 6 East Feeder and F-M 158 will be closed. Harvey Road between Appomattox and Copperfield will be closed for the duration of the race. Both should reopen by 11 AM. Copperfield Drive will be closed to all traffic until the 5K runners are off of the northbound side and returning to Veterans Park on the southbound side.
This year will be the seventh annual run hosted by the City of College Station. There's still time to register, and you can do that by going to the link listed at the bottom of this article.
