HUMBLE, Texas (AP) An armored van guard has been shot during a Houston-area ATM robbery as the money machine was being restocked.

Police in Humble say the gunfire late Monday morning left the guard critically hurt and several suspects on the run.

Further details weren't immediately released on the wounded guard, who was transported to a hospital.

Police are looking for three or four men who fled in a car that was later found abandoned.

The ATM is in the drive-thru area of a Chase bank.
