Arson Arrest Made in Local High School Fire

COLLEGE STATION An arrest has been made after a fire that forced the evacuation of A&M Consolidated High School last week.

Anson Sterling of College Station was taken into custody by CSPD Monday afternoon and faces an arson charge.

Authorities believe the 18-year-old College Station resident set the fire in a first floor boys restroom last Thursday morning. The school was evacuated as a result. No one was injured, and CSFD reports there was not significant damage to the restroom.

Sterling was booked into the Brazos County jail Tuesday morning after originally being detained at the College Station jail. Bond had not been set as of mid-morning.
