SUGAR LAND, Texas - Authorities say a 46-year-old man fatally shot his wife this week at their Houston-area home and then shot and wounded his two children before killing himself.
The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday that a preliminary investigation indicates Karim Kamdar was the shooter Monday at the family's home near Sugar Land. Authorities had not previously indicated who was responsible for the shooting.
Deputies who responded to the home after 6 a.m. Monday found the couple's 15-year-old daughter on the front lawn suffering from a gunshot wound. She had called 911 despite her injury.
The bodies of Kamdar and his wife, 37-year-old Nikhat Kamdar, were found in the home. Their 11-year-old son also was inside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The children underwent surgery and are recovering at a hospital.
