BBB Warns of 'Vault Bag' Scam

BRYAN/COLLEGE STATION The Better Business Bureau has been notified of recent advertising which encourages consumers to purchase vault bags containing rarely seen coins. The bags are $59, and the ad suggests the coins are quite valuable.

The company advertising the vault bags is known as the World Reserve Monetary Exchange, Inc., which has an unfavorable rating of "F" with the BBB. The address for this company is 8000 Freedom Ave., N. Canton, OH 44720 and is only one of several companies with unfavorable ratings that are housed at that address.

The “F” rating is based on 12 serious complaints against the business, advertising issues found by the BBB and failure to resolve underlying causes of the pattern of complaints. Even after being contacted by the BBB and agreeing to modify their advertising, BBB files indicate that this business still has complaints concerning the number of rare/scarce coins contained in the bag; consumers indicate the majority of coins contained in the bag are newer coins and pennies.
