COLLEGE STATION A local specialty grocery store forced to close down last month after a possible contamination of dangerous pesticide, has re-opened. The Brazos County Health Department says the BCS Asian Market re-opened May 24th after it opted to throw away any food item in the store that was at risk for contamination.

That included produce, dry food items, and any food that was not hermetically sealed. Last month a health inspector found an open container of aluminum phosphide, a dangerous commercial grade pesticide. He brought it to a nearby fire station in mid-May, which was evacuated for a short time because of the chemical's explosive properties.
