More than 100 high school teams from across the state were in the area for the 16th Annual Great American Shootout.
Dozens of students from all over the State are in the Brazos Valley for the competition along with their family and friends. The tournament is expected to bring in more than 3,500 visitors to the area and have an economic impact of about $945,000 on the community.
"It is a great way to start off the summer months with all the sporting tournaments that will be in town. Not only will we have basketball, we will have softball, lacrosse. We will have different things coming into town so this is a great way to kick off the whole summer,” said Dominique Powell, president of the Bryan College Station Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The teams this weekend will play at most Middle Schools and High Schools in College Station and Bryan.
