BRYAN - UPDATE: Bryan Texas Utilities says the power has been restored. Will most likely have a cause later in the day on Thursday.
Bryan Texas Utilities is reporting a power outage south of Downtown Bryan.
Around 11:52 Wednesday night, BTU says there was an outage at the Atkins Substation, located off Atkins Street in Bryan.
There are about 2,000 customers without power. Police scanner reports that many traffic lights at intersections in the affected area are not working.
News 3 viewers report that the lights are out along Villa Maria, headed west from the Tejas Center.
BTU says they have crews on scene investigating the cause of the outage and working to restore power, but do not know how long that will take.
