BRYAN A bank robbery has taken place in Bryan, and suspects described as armed and dangerous are being sought.

The Commerce National Bank location at 29th Street near Broadmoor was held up Tuesday by two suspects.

According to Bryan Police, a driver was carjacked around 9:30 a.m. on Oaklawn Street between Wellborn and College Avenue. A white Ford Taurus was taken. The driver was assaulted by armed men, reportedly hit with a handgun, but was not seriously injured.

About an hour later, that same car was reportedly used in the bank robbery and driven away by the suspects. The first is described as a mustached black male with a heavy build. He was wearing jeans, a shirt and a hat. The second was described by police as a black male who was wearing all dark clothing and had his face covered by a mask. However, surveillance images later released by police showed a person wearing a white hoodie and black pants.

The Taurus was later located at the Grove Apartments down 29th Street from the bank. The two suspects and a potential third suspect are believed to have then left the apartments.

No injuries to the bank staff have been reported. Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken.
