Walker County Sheriff Clint McRae says investigators have arrested and charged 22-year-old Cristian Zamora with the murder of a man whose body was found Monday in the Sam Houston National Forest near Huntsville. Investigators say Zamora is from El Salvador.

Authorities are investigating a homicide after a body was found in the Sam Houston National Forest east of Huntsville.

According to Walker County Sheriff Clint McRae, authorities received an anonymous call from a payphone around 11:20 a.m. Monday about the location of a dead body. Officials responded and located the body of a Hispanic man on FM 2296 near the intersection with FM 2929.

FM 2929 was blocked off all afternoon. When News 3 was on scene, a Sam Houston Funeral van was allowed to pass through. Sheriff McRae confirmed the funeral van transported the body and said the man's identity is being withheld until next of kin has been notified.

Authorities said although a suspect has not been named in the case, evidence found at the scene, such as tire marks, are being actively investigated.
