Early morning severe weather has moved east of the Brazos Valley, taking the damaging wind and tornado threat out of the area as well. While the severe weather threat has passed, we'll need to monitor areas of minor flooding and down tree limbs on area roads. A tornado watch remains in place for most of the area -- however, that should be canceled by the National Weather Service shortly.
HOUSTON (AP) A body found buried under a chicken coop has been identified as a Houston-area man who disappeared on New Year's Eve.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office on Monday identified the victim as 41-year-old Jesus Leal Valdez of Pasadena. A tip led to the discovery Saturday of his body buried a couple of feet beneath the coop in a backyard.
Authorities did not immediately release a cause of death. Nobody has been arrested. Investigators are also looking for the man's vehicle.
Anyone with information on the case has been asked to contact Harris County
