A boil water notice has been issued for Washington County residents living in the northeastern part of the county.
Last Friday the Bluebonnet Rural Water Corporation began experiencing water outages in the Old Washington area.
Water crews have identified three major leaks and repairs are underway.
Until further notice, residents are being asked to boil the water and conserve.
Boiling is critical because it will destroy harmful bacteria and other microbes present in the water.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requires the company to alert customers to problems and to inform them when the boil water notice is lifted.
