TAMU Campus Reopened After Morning Bomb Threat

  • The Texas A&M campus has reopened after a bomb threat was received Friday morning.
  • According to university police, the threat was received via email through Computing and Information Services.
  • Easterwood Airport had been previously closed, but has reopened.
    Flights were diverted to Coulter Field in Bryan.

The Texas A&M campus has reopened after a bomb threat was received Friday morning. Uncleared buildings are still closed. TAMU Officials are confident event venues are safe.

The university issued a Code Maroon at 11:34 a.m. It stated:

"Code Maroon: Bomb threat received for campus in general. Evacuate campus by foot immediately. Do not use a vehicle."

Later, people on the main campus were asked to go north to Church Street or south to Anderson Street.

According to university police, the threat was received via email through Computing and Information Services.

Earlier a university spokesperson told News 3..the threat was phoned in.

Easterwood Airport had been previously closed, but has reopened.
Flights were diverted to Coulter Field in Bryan.

According to officials about 50,000 people were on campus at the time of the evacuation.
