Scattered areas of rain & a few thunderstorms are moving across the Brazos Valley this afternoon. Later today & into the evening hours, while the coverage is expected to remain low (20%) -- should a thunderstorm develop, it could become severe. Large hail & damaging winds are the main concern -- however an isolated tornado threat cannot be ignored. Strong thunderstorms are possible overnight & early Monday morning, as well (50%).
An annual charity event tonight pits local police officers against firefighters in a friendly game of softball.
The event benefits the 100 Club which supports the families of first responders who have died in the line of duty.
It was the "Cold Steel" police officers versus the "Hot Stuff" firefighters.
They're brothers when it comes to protecting our streets and fighting fires in the Brazos County area, but on the field it's a serious competition.
The second Annual Community Softball Classic is a friendly competition benefiting the "100 club" .
Cold Steel wasn't able to repeat. The police officers lost to the "Hot Stuff" firefighters 12 to 7.
