Brazos County Crime Stoppers Awarded Productivity Award for 2010 Activities

Brazos County Sheriff and Brazos County Crime Stopper’s Coordinator Christopher Kirk is pleased to announce that the Brazos County Crime Stoppers program has received the 2010 Productivity Award for the Most Cases Cleared/Greatest Dollar Recovery from the Office of the Governor’s Texas Crime Stoppers Council. The award recognizes the program with a population of 150,000 to 200,000 from all the Texas Crime Stopper’s programs in Texas that had the Most Cases Cleared/Greatest Dollar Recovery in 2010.

Brazos County Crime Stoppers Board of Director’s Chairman Joy Sechelski and fellow board members Angela Bashaw, Lester Bashaw, Brooke Horak, Ann Schaefer and Ron Schaefer along with Assistant Coordinator Sharon Cortemelia were among those present to receive the award at the annual Texas Crime Stoppers conference in McAllen TX on October 25, 2011.

In 2010, Brazos County Crime Stoppers received 979 tips that led to the arrest of 116 fugitives and the clearing of 163 cases. The tips also led to the recovery of 1 weapon, $28,776 of recovered property and $51,723 of illegal drugs.
