Bryan Collegiate High School was one of only three schools chosen to represent the 59 early college high schools in Texas at the State Capitol Mar. 27. Four BCHS students, accompanied by BISD administrators, were recognized on the floor of the Texas Legislature. Factors used to determine schools chosen for the event celebrating National Early College High School Awareness Week included leadership, quality of the school and longevity of the program.
The special recognition from the Texas Legislature included House and Senate Resolutions and meetings with elected officials.
BCHS is the region's only early college high school. Students have the opportunity to earn up to 60 college hours, tuition-free, while earning a high school diploma. The program is open to students in and outside Bryan ISD.
