BRYAN - Gut wrenching video has been released by the owner of a convenience store of one of his clerks facing the barrel of a handgun in one of two Bryan convenience store robberies overnight.
This surveillance video was taken around 10:30 P.M. and police say as scary as this video is, it helped them nab a suspect.
The robber got away with a lot of cash, but not for long.
News 3 has a closer look at the video, and how police say they found the man who they believe committed the robberies.
Staring down the barrel of a gun was something Zulfikar Samnani had never experienced before in his six years as a convenience store clerk at the Finfeather Grocery in Bryan.
"It's a first time in my life," he said.
Wednesday night he was robbed and it was caught on a security camera.
"Well last night bout 10 something I was just doing paperwork at my desk and some guy came and said, 'I have a gun, give me money.' And then I open register and give him money," said Samnani.
Just nine minutes before police say 26-year -old Lance Lopez of Bryan also held up the Ready 2 Go Convenience Store on South College Avenue.
Police compared surveillance video here at Finfeather Grocery as well as the other store and say the suspect has tattoos that can be seen in both holdups.
Witnesses told police they saw someone drive away from the robberies in a Kia Soul.
10 minutes after this robbery police tracked down a similar car and suspect description.
They placed Lopez under arrest at Cottage Grove Circle and Craftwood Place.
Police say they found a Walther PPS replica air pistol and nearly $500 cash in his car.
Zulfikar Samnani says he's glad a suspect has been arrested.
"Feeling good," he said.
Fortunately neither clerk was hurt in either robbery.
Lance Lopez has been charged with two counts of aggravated robbery.
He remains in the Brazos County Jail on $30,000 bond.
