Bryan FD Looking Into Possible Arson Case

Posted: Tue 11:45 PM, Dec 04, 2012

Investigators with the Bryan Fire Department are trying to figure out what caused a fire in the rent-drop box of a local apartment complex.

That fire broke out at the Quail Hollow Apartments in the 3500 block of Plainsman Ln. in Bryan Monday, sometime between midnight and 6 a.m.

A representative with the department says seven to eight rent checks were destroyed, as well as one cash rent payment. Quail Hollow's management is working to resolve the payment problems. Investigators say they are considering arson as a possibility, and are looking for witnesses to come forward.

A firefighter on scene told News 3 that the damage was limited to the office, and that there is some light smoke damage to the building's interior.
