Bryan ISD Board of Trustees to Vote on HS Attendance Zones

By: Bryan Independent School District Email

A final recommendation for high school re-zoning in Bryan ISD has been made by a committee appointed to study the issue. A revised zone map for Bryan High School and Rudder High School will be presented for consideration to the BISD Board of Trustees at a called meeting Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 at 6 p.m. in the TESC Board Room, 101 N. Texas Ave.

A detailed analysis of projected enrollment and growth in the city revealed the need to expand the Rudder zone from the previously recommended map presented at the Jan. 14 public hearing. Changes to the map resulted in the addition of approximately 200 students into the Rudder zone. It is expected that, with this change, BHS and RHS will be in the same UIL classification at the next alignment date in Spring, 2014.

If approved by the Board of Trustees, the new zones will take effect in Fall, 2013.
