A Bryan man is in jail Wednesday after punching and running from Bryan Police officers.
Tuesday night, Bryan Police officers were called out to the 2400 block of Jaguar Drive after resident reported a group of men standing outside yelling at each other.
When officers responded, they found 26-year-old Sedrick Tremain Auston, Jr., standing outside one of the residences. When officers detained Auston, they discovered he was wanted in Robertson County for parole violation. Officers said that he was very nervous acting, so they asked him to sit down. They informed him about the warrant and went to arrest him. That's when, according to the arrest report, Auston pulled away from the officer and ran.
A second officer was close-by and grabbed Auston's shirt. They both fell to the ground. That's when police say Auston left the scene in a Chevy pick-up truck.
Other Bryan PD Officers were in the area and spotted the truck in the 1400 block of N. Texas Ave. Auston abandon the truck and was caught in the 200 block of Plum.
According to the arrest record, officers found a clear plastic baggie filled with a white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine, a metallic grinder and four different cellphones.
According to investigators, one of the cellphones had several text messages asking for Auston to deliver "a 10," which commonly refers to a measurement of narcotics.
Auston was arrested and charge with evading arrest, assault on a public servant, possessing a controlled substance with intent to deliver and parole violation. He's in the Brazos County Jail under $80,000 bond.
