Two Killed In Major Accident on FM 2818 Near Sandy Point

BRYAN A family is pulling for a little girl in critical condition, who was flown to Dell Children's Hospital in Austin Friday after a major crash that killed both drivers.

It happened early in the afternoon on F-M 2818 north of Bryan.

The little girl was riding with her father, who died in the crash.

The crash shut down F-M 2818 in Bryan for three hours as investigators and firefighters worked the scene of the accident.

"We know that there was a head on collision," said Officer Kelley McKethan with the Bryan Police Department.

McKethan says the accident happened around 1:30 near the Army Reserve Center just south of Mumford Road when a Jeep Cherokee and a Honda Accord crashed.

"All occupants went to St. Joseph Hospital originally," she said.

57-year-old Casey Richmond of Bremond was ejected from the SUV and later pronounced dead.

26-year-old Timothy Baldobino of Bryan and his three-year- old-daughter had to be extricated from their car and flown to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan.

The toddler was eventually flown to Dell Children's Hospital in Austin.

It's not known if she was secured in a safety seat but one was found at the scene.

The accident happened on a straight stretch of F-M 2818.

Police are not saying yet what caused it.

"At this time because it's so early on in the investigation details are going to be withheld," Kelley McKethan said.

The three-year-old was last listed in critical condition at Dell Children's Hospital in Austin.

F-M 2818 between Mumford Road and Sandy Point Road reopened to traffic around 4:30 Friday afternoon.

Friends and family are pulling for a young toddler who was injured in a major crash Friday afternoon north of Bryan that killed two other people.

It happened around 1:30 P.M. when the two cars hit each other head-on.

Police say a Jeep Cherokee and Honda car hit near the Army Reserve Center on F-M 2818 in North Bryan near Mumford Road.

Investigators say the drivers, 26-year-old Timothy Baldobino of Bryan, and 54-year-old Casey Richmond of Bremond died from their injuries.

A 3-year-old girl was flown to Dell Children's Hospital in Austin after initially being flown to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan.

"The two occupant vehicle, the occupants had to be extracted. The driver was lifeflighted, the child went with that adult. The other vehicle, that occupant was transported by ambulance," said Officer Kelley McKethan with the Bryan Police Department.

Investigators are still trying to determine why the crash happened.

The little girl taken to Austin was listed in critical condition.

4:30 p.m. Update: Bryan Police said FM 2818 has been reopened. We'll keep an eye on this story and continue to bring you updates as they come in.

4:00pm Update:

Bryan Police have confirmed that a second adult has died from the wreck.

Drivers identified as Casey Richmond 57, Timothy Baldobino 26.
The child was flown to Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin.

UPDATE:
Bryan Police confirm that one adult is deceased, one adult is in critical condition, and one toddler is being transported with minor injuries.

Bryan Police are currently working a major accident that has FM 2818 shut down from Sandy Point Road to Mumford.

BPD is asking drivers avoid the area if possible.

News 3's David Norris reports that a medical helicopter has landed at the scene. According to a Brazos County Constable, two or three cars are involved.

According to scanner reports, it was a rollover accident.

News 3 has a crew on the way to the scene.
