BRYAN The Bryan Parks and Recreation Department will host the Ninth-Annual Family Camp Out on April 12-13 in Austin's Colony Park.
"Camping has never been easier! Let us do the work while your family enjoys time together discovering the outdoors," said Gwynne Shillings, Special Events and Marketing Coordinator with Bryan Parks and Recreation.
Family Camp Out offers a wide range of activities for everyone, including family games and crafts, stargazing, campfire stories, nature walks and a showing of Despicable Me 2 under the stars. Dinner, snack and breakfast are also included.
The event is sponsored by Bryan Wal-Mart Supercenter. Early registration runs through April 11 and costs $7 for adults and $5 for kids 12-and-under. Registration on April 12 costs $10 per adult and $7 for kids 12-and-under.
Families can also rent tents from the Bryan Parks and Recreation Department. A four-person tent costs $13 and a six-person tent costs $20. Tents can be reserved in advance or onsite, and cost includes setup and take down.
