On November 6, 2012 a theft was reported at Gooseneck Trailers located at 4400 E SH 21 in Bryan. It was reported that approximately $570 worth of copper wire was taken and approximately $1800 worth of damage to equipment was made. The Officer who responded to take the report immediately identified two other cases with similar circumstances. One reported on October 23rd and the second reported on August 14th. The Officer contacted the Criminal Investigation Division who followed up on the case.
A former Gooseneck Trailer employee by the name of Terrence Jermil Scott age 34 of Bryan admitted to the crimes and gave information that led to the recovery of the copper taken during the last theft. Today an arrest warrant was served on Scott for two counts of Theft of Copper less than $20K and is being held on $26000 bond.
Theft of Copper less than $20K is a State Fail Felony and can carry a term in prison from 180 days up to 2 years and an optional fine not to exceed $10,000.
