Bryan Police Department Offering Junior Police Academy

By  |

The Junior Police Academy is a new and innovative program for our youth. A student entering the 10th, 11th, or 12th grades in the 2013-2014 academic school year will have a chance to see what it is like to be a police officer with the Bryan Police Department. This program is designed for students to get hands-on experience and a better understanding of police work in order to assist them in making a career choice.

The Junior Police Academy will run from June 17th through June 27th, 2013 on Mondays through Thursdays only. All classes will take place from 1pm – 5pm with the exception of the opening and closing classes on June 17th and June 27th, which will be 6:30pm – 9:30pm, so parents can attend.

In order to participate in this class, students must have passing grades for the 5th six-weeks and submit a copy of their report card, parent approval, no criminal history and the recommendation of two teachers.

Class size is limited to 15 so get your applications in soon. Applications and a list of classes may be found on the Police Department web page at and click on the Junior Police Academy logo. Applications may also be found in the lobby of the Bryan Police Department, at BHS and Rudder Go-Centers. Deadline for application is May 24th, 2013
