A 70-year-old woman is dead following a single vehicle wreck near the Bryan Municipal Golf Course.

At 8:15 a.m. Saturday, emergency crews responded to the accident in the 200 block of W Villa Maria Rd.

A Toyota Camry left the road and hit a tree on the south side of the road.. Authorities say it was eastbound at the time it left the roadway.

Elizabeth Johnson, 70 of College Station, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other people are noted to have been in the vehicle.

The road was wet at the time, and investigators believe that may have been a factor in the crash.
