Power was out and a portion of a road closed in Bryan due to an accident.
According to Bryan Police, an 18-wheeler struck an electrical pole on South College in the area of Old College and Pleasant around 8:45 a.m. Wednesday. A portion of South College was closed as a result.
BTU worked to restore power, which came back for all of the 1,300 affected customers by around 9:40 a.m.
Due to diesel fuel that spilled on the roadway, a College Station Fire Department hazardous materials team worked to clean up the area. The road was reopened around 12:40 p.m. Wednesday
No injuries were noted by Bryan Police, and the truck driver was issued a citation for failing to maintain a single lane. Police believe the truck swung out too far to the right as it attempted to make a left turn from Old College onto South College.
