Burton Woman Accused of Trying to Steal from Grocery Store

An alleged theft of beer, dog food, nuts and coffee got a 55 year old Burton woman in trouble with the law.

Police say that a store employee at HEB in Brenham stopped Patricia Spitzer after she allegedly zipped by the checkout line in a motorized shopping cart carrying the aforementioned items.

When she was arrested, it was discovered that Sptizer was also wanted on a warrant for theft by check.

She was taken to the Washington County jail.
