CS City Council Reviewing Tow Truck Policies Thursday Night

The College Station City Council is considering making changes to city towing policies.

The city is considering using only a handful of tow truck companies.

CSPD currently oversees the inspection and permitting of 29 different wrecker companies,

They spent 256 hours over a two week period of July completing inspections.

Thursday night city staff will present results of a request for proposal at the Council Meeting which if approved, could limit contracts to just two or more tow truck companies.

Many tow truck companies say the plan would hurt their ability to do business.

The College Station City Council's regular meeting is scheduled to start at 7 Thursday night.
