Cafe Eccell Coming to Former Luby's Building

Good to Know:

  • Cafe Eccell formerly operated in College Station, but closed after their lease with the city was up.
  • Luby's closed this week.

BRYAN - Less than a week after it closed, there's a buyer for the old Luby's on Texas Avenue and Rosemary in Bryan.

The new restaurant will be Café Eccell, which closed after a land battle with the City of College Station earlier this year.

The Dallis brothers, who owned Café Eccell, say the they will operate in the old Luby's location with updated branding.

They have officially taken possession of the property and are remodeling now.

There is no word yet on when Café Eccell will open.

You might remember café Eccel was forced to close its doors at its previous location after the City of College Station sold the land to Asset Plus.

After appealing the eviction, a confidential settlement was reached and the restaurant vacated the property.
