COLLEGE STATION - One of the co-owners of the now-closing Cafe Eccell is facing hit and run charges from an accident on February 5th.

Andreas Athanasios Dallis, 33, was arrested Saturday. According to the police report, Dallis was involved in an accident at the Taco Bell on Harvey Road. Around 8:45 p.m., officers were called out to the restaurant by the driver of a Ford Taurus. The driver told police that he had been hit from behind and that the person who hit him drove off.

Both the victim and an employee gave police a description of the vehicle and driver, as well as a license plate number. Police found the vehicle belonged to Dallis.

When they showed up at his house, police said Dallis refused to speak with officers and told them he "could not help them." According to Dallis' attorney, Craig Greening, Dallis asked the investigator to contact him regarding the matter. Greening said he was never contacted.

The report says the officer smelled alcohol on Dallis, that he had glassy eyes and his speech was slurred.

Officers tried to call Dallis in the following days, but he wouldn't answer.

Investigators got surveillance video from the drive thru showing the accident, and Dallis leaving the scene. Officers also put together a photo line up and both the victim and witness identified Dallis as the man who fled the scene.

Dallis was arrested Saturday evening and booked into the Brazos County Jail. He posted $2,000 bond and was released.
