Red Cashion, College Station native and famed National Football League referee, will be signing copies of his autobiography Friday in his hometown.

"First Dooowwwnnn...and Life to Go" is co-authored by Cashion and Rusty Burson of 12th Man Magazine, with a foreword by another NFL legend, Coach Bill Parsells.

Copies will be available, along with Cashion's signature just off a pen, at Barnes & Noble in College Station from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday.

Most kids who dream of being in pro sports have visions of slam dunks, touchdowns and home runs that they themselves have achieved, but for Cashion growing up in College Station, his sporting aspirations involved donning stripes and calling those scores and a penalty or two.

The A&M Consolidated High School and Texas A&M alum eventually made it to the NFL, and for decades, was one of the most colorful men to wear the black and white. He is one of, if not the most famous official in the history of American pro sports.
