BURLESON COUNTY Tens of thousands of people were in Snook Saturday for Chilifest. The annual event draws music lovers to Burleson County and dozens of teams cooking up their best chili recipes.
Country music star Hank Williams Junior was the headliner year and helped wrap up the event earlier tonight. The event raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities each year.
"That's ultimately the best part about it is, is that afterwards we go out and donate a lot of that money to those charities that spend so much time and energy working for our event," said Chilifest President Tanner Newton.
Organizers say in the last two years they have donated $250,000 to charities in the Brazos Valley and surrounding areas.
