Citizens State Bank Establishes Fund For Injured Bryan Firefighter Ricky Mantey, Jr.

Updated: Tue 4:26 PM, Feb 19, 2013

The community of Somerville is rallying around their hometown hero.

Ricky Mantey grew up in the Burleson County community and his family owns a business there.

Now Citizen's State Bank is also offering support for Mantey.

Friday night's tragic fire in Bryan has rocked Bryan-College Station but also the close knit community of Somerville.

30-year-old Ricky Mantey was critically injured in the fire and is undergoing treatment for burns at UTMB Galveston.

"We're just very fortunate for our community that Ricky's going to be fine and he's quite a young man," said Ben Flencher, the President of Citizens State Bank.

The bank set up a fund for Mantey Tuesday.

"And they had so many people just like y'alls TV station trying to find a way to help. Nobody really knows what to do at a time like this," said Flencher.

Employees are even wearing ribbons in support of Mantey. Much of his family still calls this area home.

"You just tell us that you want to donate toward that account, then we'll get your name and address and get it to the proper place and that way the family will know who made the donation," explained Flencher.

Some extra help for one of Burleson County's bravest.

The fund is available at all six area Citizens State Bank locations under the name, "Ricky Dale Mantey, Jr. Benefit Account."
