Texas A&M Police Investigate Bomb Threat at Kyle Field

8:25pm UPDATE:

Texas A&M University officials say Kyle Field and nearby buildings will reopen at 6 a.m. Thursday. Police made a thorough search and no bomb was found. All parking lots adjacent to the stadium have also been reopened.

4:45pm UPDATE:

A handwritten message was discovered on a wall in Kyle Field that said "There is a bomb at KYLE". Police were notified, buildings were closed and evacuated, and the Code Maroon was sent out.

Police are still searching for a bomb at this hour. They are assisted by ATF along with bomb dogs.

Buildings will be opened sometime Thursday morning.

Texas A&M University has issued a "code maroon" safety advisory due to a possible bomb threat at Kyle Field that's closed the stadium and nearby buildings.

A statement Wednesday afternoon from the school in College Station says "Bomb threat investigation at Kyle." The emergency advisory says the football stadium and adjacent buildings will be closed for the rest of the day.

The statement issued at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday says the investigation is ongoing. Further details weren't immediately available.

Kyle Field seats nearly 83,000.
