College Station City Council Votes To Sell Conference Center

By  |

The College Station City Council is looking at options to sell the city's conference center after structural damage was found last year forcing it to close in July.

Two weeks ago the city council voted unanimously to have an appraisal performed on the facility that was originally a school.

The city council is also looking at options to add space to the Larry J. Ringer Library and Lincoln Recreation Center from unspent bond funds from 2008.

City staff estimate it would cost $1.6 million to $2.1 million to repair and bring the conference center back up to code.

College Station ISD would have the first option to buy back their former building if they choose so, but as of now a timeline has not been set on when the building would go up for sale.
