College Station After the College Station City Council approved the sale of the Chimney Hill Shopping Center to the P-M Realty Group Thursday night, some are wondering what this means for existing tenants at University Drive and Tarrow Street.

The Republic Steakhouse will remain open through construction and will eventually move into the new development.

City Officials say the DaVita Dialysis Center and the Western Beverages liquor store have indicated they will be in search of a new location.

Dan Leverett, P-M Realty Group Executive Vice President says the company envisions a micro-urban village for families that will include retail businesses. He said the goal is to "create a sense of place," modeling the idea after a planned community in San Jose, California, called "Santana Row."

The development is expected to be completed in 2017.
