A cold front will approach the Brazos Valley later today. Isolated areas of rain and thunderstorms could develop along and ahead of that front between mid-afternoon and early evening. Good news: rain & storm activity will be quick moving (1 hour or less). Bad news: a few severe thunderstorms are possible with large hail and strong, damaging winds being the main concern. A brief, isolated tornado threat cannot be ruled out, as well.
UPDATE: Officials have reopened the intersection of Texas and George Bush after it was closed Monday night and into Tuesday morning.
The Brazos County TxDOT Maintenance Section has closed the entire intersection of Texas Avenue and George Bush Drive while the College Station Police Department reconstruct a major accident that occurred in the area.
TxDOT is hopeful to have this intersection reopen to the public by 6am Tuesday.
Motorists are asked to please avoid this area tonight from 11pm until 6am and find an alternate route.
TxDOT and the City of College Station PD appreciate everyone’s assistance in this closure.
