COLLEGE STATION, Texas If you have an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, like a traffic violation, through the College Station Municipal Court, time is running out to pay your fine.
The city's annual spring warrant amnesty period started
Monday and runs through the end of the month.
More than 3,000 unresolved cases are still on the books and the city marshal says the program gives people a chance to pay their fine and save $50 on paying a warrant fee if the fine is paid in full.
Those who don't pay their fines in time run the risk of being arrested during the city's warrant roundup March 1st through the 10th.
"We have one in the fall and we have one in the spring and actually the spring we tend to have more people come in. And so we've guessed maybe it's tax season, we're not sure, but the spring seems to bring more people in so that's why we do it," said Ed Spillane, College Station Municipal Court Presiding Judge.
