MUMFORD, TX -- The A&M Consolidated baseball team beat Bryan 4-2 Wednesday night in the opening game of their best of three Class 5A Regional final series at the Pete J. Bienski Sports Complex.
The Vikings got the scoring started in the second when Austin Gallego doubled to left/center field. Zac Slaydon and Tyler Jordan would score to give Bryan a 2-0 lead.
The Tigers would answer in the third inning. Alec Paradowski scored when a Gallego throw to first base got away. Later in the inning Consol tied the game at two when Logan Howell scored on a fielder's choice
The game would stay tied at two until Paradowski dropped a base hit in left field scoring two runs. The hit proved to be the game winner.
Bryan and Consol will play game two of their series Thursday night at Fireman's Park in Brenham. First pitch is set for 5:30pm. If a game three is necessary, it will be played on Thursday following game two.
